If I didn’t admire her then, I certainly do now! Queen Latifah: said some things on the Wendy Williams show today, that captivated me and inspired me to write this.
Normally during the day I am at work. Nevertheless, I am home sick today. I was laying in bed board flicking thru channels and came across this show. I’m not a fan, but have seen it from time to time. Queen Latifah was a guest and she spoke about women. Her philosophy is much like mine. I love women, I love being a woman, and I wish that other women would recognize how important it is for us to look out for one another.
She described being almost disheartened by how women will claw at each other, and don’t respect one another. This is so true, and it saddens me to already see the ill affects other woman have on each other at such a young age. Teenagers are already learning how to hate and distrust other women because of their experiences. I have to ask myself, did I teach the young women around me that? And if I did, how do I get those young women to understand how wrong that perception is. As Queen Latifah explains further she describes how even her weight was always an issue for others. I admire so much that she didn’t let the misconceived notions about how a woman should look, defeat her will to survive in such a very judgmental generation. I realize more and more that being skinny is just a generational fluke and it’s followers will always be damaged goods.
Succinctly speaking….Being a healthy woman both emotionally and spiritually only adds more to my physical nature. Women have to want it, feel it, believe it!
